The first step to becoming a certified editor is to register with us. Once you have worked with us as a translator and built a reputation for quality work, we will approach you directly, or you can approach us to let us know your interest.

Certified editors

Certified editors are the Elanex senior linguists - the trusted team of high level specialists who provide the 'final say' on the quality of our work. To become a certified editor with Elanex is to receive a vote of confidence from Elanex in your abilities as a linguist, and to become eligible for many more opportunities with us. As an indication, although we have over 30,000 'practitioners' (translators, editors and project managers), only 160 or so have made it to certified editor status.

'Editing' is a sorely misused word in the translation industry - used by many to mean 'proofreading'. Elanex edits - not proofreads - all translations in order to ensure consistency of style, suitability of terminology, and accuracy. We do this for two simple reasons - it leads to better quality work, and it enables us to provide feedback to our translators so we can create a mutually-beneficial relationship.
